- This English version is a translation. The Korean version is the official version; if the two differ, the Korean version prevails to the extent permitted by the law that applies to you.
- Your license to use the app is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) (Section 23).
1. Purpose
These Terms set out the rights, obligations and responsibilities between Lipson Inc. (“we”, “us”) and you when you use Aria, our personal assistant app, and its server features (the “Service”).
2. Definitions
- “User” or “you” means anyone who uses the Service under these Terms.
- “Guest account” means the account created automatically for each device the first time you open the app.
- “Apple-linked account” means a guest account you have linked to your Apple Account with Sign in with Apple.
- “Content” means everything you enter or store in the Service, such as tasks, notes, files, chats and people.
- “AI Features” means features that use generative artificial intelligence for chat replies, briefings, automatic organizing, summaries, classification, extraction and semantic search.
- “AI output” means text, summaries, classifications, suggestions and other results produced by AI features.
- “Paid subscription” means an auto-renewable subscription purchased through App Store in-app purchase.
3. Posting and changes
- We post these Terms in the app and on our website so you can read them easily.
- We may change these Terms within the limits of applicable law.
- We announce changes, with their effective date, in the app and on our website at least 7 days in advance. For changes that are unfavorable to you or significant, we announce them at least 30 days in advance and notify you individually, for example with an in-app notice.
- If, when announcing a change, we clearly told you that not objecting by the effective date would mean you accept the change, and you do not object, you are treated as having accepted it. If you do not agree, you may end the agreement (delete your account) at any time.
4. Agreement
- The agreement between you and us is formed when you review these Terms and the Privacy Policy and start using the app.
- We may refuse, or later end, an agreement if you used another person’s Apple Account, if your previous agreement was ended under these Terms and you sign up again without a legitimate reason, or if it is clear that you intend to use the Service for an unlawful purpose.
5. Age
The Service is intended for people aged 14 and over. People under 14 may not use the Service. If the law where you live requires a higher age to agree to these Terms or to the processing of your personal information, you must meet that age.
6. Accounts
- A guest account can be used only on the device that created it and cannot be recovered. If you lose the device or delete the app, you lose access to that account’s data.
- Linking your guest account with Sign in with Apple lets you use the same data and subscription on your other devices.
- Keep your devices and Apple Account secure, and tell us promptly if you learn of unauthorized use.
7. The Service and changes to it
- We provide the features shown in the app, such as tasks, calendar, notes (scraps), files, voice memos, location reminders, briefings, Synapse (knowledge graph), AI chat and widgets.
- We may change parts of the Service to improve it, for technical reasons, or because a partner service (such as an AI provider) changes. We will give advance notice of significant changes that are unfavorable to you, as in Section 3(3).
- If we reduce core features promised with a paid subscription, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance so that you can cancel before then.
8. AI features
- The Service’s AI features operate on generative artificial intelligence. We currently use Anthropic, PBC’s Claude models (chat, summaries, classification, extraction) and an embedding model from OpenAI OpCo, LLC (semantic search), and we may change models or providers for quality and reliability. See the Generative AI Notice for details.
- AI features are at the core of the Service, and you can use the Service only after you agree to information being sent to the external AI providers. You may decline or withdraw that consent, but if you do, you cannot use the Service. See Section 10 of our Privacy Policy for how to withdraw consent.
- AI output is generated probabilistically and may be inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or biased. Check the facts before relying on AI output for important decisions.
- AI output is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, tax, financial or safety advice. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
- When an AI feature creates or changes tasks, events or other items at your request, we show you the result so you can review it.
- You must not use AI features to create content, or for purposes, that violate the law or the usage policies of our AI providers (for example, Anthropic’s Usage Policy).
- We do not use your Content to train AI models.
9. Free use and usage limits
- We may offer AI features free of charge up to a limit. The limit and when it resets are shown in the app.
- To keep the Service stable and prevent abuse, we may apply a reasonable fair-use limit, even to paid subscribers, to request volumes far beyond ordinary personal use. When you reach a limit, the app tells you, and the limit refills at the next reset.
10. Paid subscriptions
- Paid subscriptions are purchased through App Store in-app purchase. Payment, billing and receipts are governed by Apple’s terms and policies. The subscription name, period, price (in your local currency) and what it includes are shown on the subscription screen in the app and on the App Store payment sheet before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, the subscription renews for the same period at the price shown at that time, and you are charged.
- Where a free trial is offered, the trial length, the amount and frequency you will be charged after the trial, and how to cancel are shown on the subscription screen and the App Store payment sheet when you start the trial. By confirming the purchase on that sheet, you agree that the subscription becomes paid when the trial ends. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, you will not be charged. We do not send a separate reminder before a trial ends, so please cancel during the trial if you do not want to continue.
- To cancel: on iPhone or iPad, go to Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Mac, go to App Store → your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage. After cancelling, you can use paid features until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If we raise a subscription price, we will notify you in advance through Apple’s process and ask for your consent where the law requires it. If you do not consent, your subscription will not renew at the end of the current period.
- Your subscription is available on devices signed in to the same Apple Account and can be re-applied with “Restore purchases” in the app.
11. Cancellation and refunds
- Apple processes in-app payments and refunds, so we cannot refund payments directly. You can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- You may withdraw from or cancel a purchase as provided by the consumer protection laws that apply to you. For users in Korea, withdrawal may be limited once you have started using a subscription because it is digital content (Article 17(2)(5) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce), and we offer a free trial or similar opportunity to try the Service for that reason.
- If you cannot use paid features because of our fault, we will help you obtain the compensation or refund you are entitled to under applicable law, including by guiding you through Apple’s refund process.
- Nothing in this Section limits your rights under applicable law.
12. Your Content
- You keep the rights to your Content.
- You allow us to use your Content only as needed to provide the Service: storing it, syncing it between your devices, backing it up, displaying it, and sending it to and processing it with AI providers for the AI processing you have consented to. We do not use your Content beyond that or show it to other people.
- You must have the right to enter your Content and must not enter Content that infringes others’ rights (such as copyright, privacy or reputation).
- We do not claim rights in AI output as against you. You may use AI output freely to the extent permitted by law and by our AI providers’ policies, but you are responsible for checking that it does not infringe others’ rights.
13. Prohibited conduct
You must not:
- store or generate Content that is unlawful or infringes others’ rights;
- use AI features for dangerous or unlawful purposes, such as child sexual abuse material, making weapons or explosives, or writing malware;
- send excessive automated requests, or try to bypass usage limits, payments or authentication;
- reverse engineer or modify the app or servers beyond what the law allows, or access our servers without authorization;
- use another person’s account or device without permission; or
- otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Service.
14. Restrictions
- If you violate Section 13, we may, depending on the seriousness, restrict AI features, suspend the Service, or end the agreement.
- Before doing so, we will tell you the reason and duration, for example in the app, and give you a chance to object. Where a violation of law is clear or there is an urgent risk to the Service or other users, we may act first and tell you without delay.
15. Our obligations
- We comply with applicable law and these Terms and work to provide the Service continuously and reliably.
- We protect your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
- If your feedback or complaint is justified, we will handle it without delay and tell you the result.
16. Ending the agreement (deleting your account)
- You may end the agreement at any time in Settings → Account by tapping “Delete account” (Apple-linked account) or “Delete all my data” (guest account). Your account and server data are deleted and cannot be recovered.
- Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it separately as described in Section 10(4) so that you are not charged again.
- We may end the agreement through the process in Section 14 if you seriously or repeatedly violate Section 13.
17. Interruption and discontinuation
- We may suspend the Service temporarily for maintenance, outages, network failures, interruption of a partner service or similar unavoidable reasons, and will tell you in advance unless that is not possible.
- If we discontinue the Service, we will announce it in the app and on our website at least 30 days in advance and explain how to export your Content if a method is available.
- If we discontinue the Service for our own reasons while you have paid subscription time left, we will take the necessary steps, such as refunds for the remaining period, in line with applicable law and Apple’s policies.
18. Liability
- If you suffer damage because of our intent or negligence, we will compensate you as required by law.
- If you cause us damage by violating these Terms, you must compensate us.
19. Limitations
- We are not responsible when we cannot provide the Service for reasons beyond our intent or negligence, such as natural disasters, war, power failures, or outages of third parties such as carriers, Apple or cloud providers.
- We are not responsible for damage caused by your own fault, such as losing your device, not keeping guest-account data, or not keeping your account secure.
- We are not responsible for damage caused because AI output is inaccurate or unsuitable for your purpose, unless we were at fault.
- Nothing in this Section limits our liability for intent or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection law in the country where you live.
20. Notices
- We give notices to all users through in-app announcements or posts on our website.
- We give notices to you individually through in-app notifications or screens. We do not send notices to your email address.
21. Contact and disputes
- Send questions, complaints and reports of inappropriate AI replies to contact@lipson.kr. We will handle them without delay.
- We will try to resolve any dispute with you in good faith. Users in Korea may also apply to the Korea Consumer Agency (dial 1372 in Korea) or other relevant bodies for relief or mediation.
22. Governing law and courts
- These Terms and the use of the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. If you are a consumer living in another country, this does not take away the protection of mandatory laws of that country.
- Lawsuits about the Service are brought in the court that has jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act of Korea. If you are a consumer living in another country, you may also bring a claim in the courts where you live, where that law gives you that right.
23. Apple
- Your license to use the app is governed by Apple’s Standard EULA, and your use of the Service is governed by these Terms. If they conflict, the provision more favorable to you applies.
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and the Service and for their maintenance and support.
24. Location features
Location processing for location reminders, a current location you attach in a chat, and weather is described in Sections 1.4 and 5 of our Privacy Policy.
Effective date
These Terms take effect on 2026-10-06.
